Send your first SMS in minutes
Follow these steps to go from zero to sending SMS through your Android device.
Create your ColdSMS account
Sign up for a free ColdSMS account. You will receive a confirmation email — verify it to unlock your dashboard.
Create accountInstall the Android app
Download the ColdSMS gateway app from our download page. Open the APK on your Android device (Android 7.0 or newer) and install it.
Download APKGrant SMS permissions
When you first open the app, it will request SMS and phone permissions. Accept these — they are required for the gateway to send and receive messages.
Generate an API key
In your ColdSMS dashboard, go to Settings → API Keys and generate a new key. Copy it — you will need it in the next step.
Register your device
Open the Android app and tap "Register Device". You can either scan the QR code shown in your dashboard or paste the API key directly. Once registered, your device will appear in the dashboard.
Send your first SMS
Head to the Messaging tab in the dashboard. Compose a message, enter a recipient number, and hit Send. The message will route through your Android device instantly.

Want delivery receipts or status updates in real time? Set up a webhook endpoint in your dashboard so ColdSMS can push event data to your server.
Send via API (optional)
Prefer to send SMS programmatically? Use the ColdSMS REST API with your API key to send messages from any language or platform.
